Terms of Service
Last Updated: August 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing the website at nipcr.org and submitting your research for evaluation, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access our evaluation services. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and The National Institute for Pathology & Computational Research ("NIPCR", "we", "us", or "our").
2. Description of Services
The National Institute for Pathology & Computational Research provides a rigorous methodological audit of computational research via native manuscript submissions. We evaluate theoretical models, statistical soundness, code integrity, and adherence to modern computational pathology standards.
IMPORTANT: NIPCR provides a methodological audit of computational research manuscripts. The "Fellow" credential represents a methodological and theoretical recognition of research output. It is NOT a medical license, a board certification, or an authorization to practice clinical medicine in any jurisdiction.
NIPCR does not assess clinical competency, patient care standards, or medical licensure. By accepting a credential from NIPCR, you explicitly agree that NIPCR bears zero clinical liability, malpractice liability, or professional liability for your actions. You are solely responsible for ensuring you hold the appropriate local, state, or national licenses required to practice in your jurisdiction.
3. Fees and Refunds
NIPCR charges a one-time evaluation fee (currently $95.00 USD) to conduct a methodological audit of your submitted manuscript.
This fee is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.
The fee covers the administrative and computational overhead required to review your submission. If your submission is rejected for failing to meet the NIPCR methodological standards, you will not receive a refund. You are paying for the audit itself, not a guaranteed credential.
3.1 The "Kill Switch" Chargeback Clause
If a user initiates a fraudulent chargeback or payment dispute through their bank or credit card provider regarding the non-refundable evaluation fee, NIPCR will trigger an automated permanent blacklisting process ("Kill Switch").
- Your NIPCR Fellowship credential will be permanently revoked.
- Your profile, name, and manuscript links will be immediately purged from the Public Registry.
- Your account will be permanently blacklisted, preventing any future submissions.
4. Intellectual Property
By submitting your manuscript to NIPCR, you represent and warrant that you are the author or authorized contributor of the submitted research and that you hold all necessary rights. You retain all intellectual property rights to your work.
However, to maintain the Public Registry, you grant NIPCR a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display your name, professional title, and the title of your accepted manuscripts on our public website.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall NIPCR, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; or (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.
5. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NIPCR and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of a) your use and access of the Service, by you or any person using your account and password, or b) a breach of these Terms, including but not limited to claims of copyright infringement regarding your submitted manuscripts or third-party clinical liability claims.
8. Governing Law, Severability, & Modifications
Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.
Modifications: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
